We do so much more than Camp.
Camp Reach for the Sky is just the beginning. Our various programs and projects help children affected by cancer and their families move beyond recovery and toward healing.
Patient Care Programs
Art From the Heart
The annual Art from the Heart event invites hundreds of children with cancer and their siblings to express themselves artistically and see their creativity recognized by their peers, family and community. Each year, participating kids from across Southern California submit original works of art for a special exhibit and reception held at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA. Funded in part by The Seany Foundation, this wonderful program showcases the creative talents of children affected by cancer to raise awareness about the power of art in healthcare.
Rhythm of Hope
The Rhythm of Hope music program unites music lovers affected by cancer with professional musicians or celebrity artists. Through a collaborative effort between the Lollipop Theater Network and The Seany Foundation, patients at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and LAC+USC Medical Center can team up with volunteer musicians to play and create original music. The groups are intimate and occur throughout the year. The music delivers hope and happiness.

Get a head start on your future
For current and former campers ages 14-25, our Junior Council offers teens and AYA (adolescents and young adults) the opportunity to actively engage with the pediatric cancer community. Members also receive mentoring and assistance with college, scholarship and job applications throughout the year. In addition to connecting teens to the cancer community, participation can also fulfill high school service requirements.
Past Projects
Seany Teen Room
The Seany Teen Room was the first-ever patient care project funded by The Seany Foundation. Created just for teens at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, CA, the doors officially opened in January 2011 with the help of a $20,000 grant from Supervisor Ron Roberts and the County of San Diego, as well as generous electronics donations from Best Buy. With the latest devices, gaming systems, video games, movies and more, it’s a space where patients can jump into WII dance parties, stay up-to-date on social media or just sit back, relax and take a well-deserved break from treatment.
Glee Club
The SOMBFAB (Some Of My Best Friends Are Bald) Glee Club allowed kids with cancer and their siblings to express themselves through music and dance. Held at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, this unique performing arts program gave children the chance to rehearse and sing under the guidance of a dance teacher and San Diego Junior Theatre Musical Director, Richard Morrison. From 2011 to the end of the program in 2012, The Seany Foundation was honored to fund this amazing group of young performers.
Pediatric Oncology Fellowship Program
The Pediatric Oncology Fellowship Program at UCSD Department of Pediatrics and Rady Children’s Hospital conducted cutting-edge research in the important field of childhood cancer. The Seany Foundation is proud to have supported the efforts these talented fellows from 2008 to 2013.
